Jamie Oliver’s Cookery School – Vietnamese Street Food 🍜🥗🧆
This week we did an online class with jamieolivercookeryschool and it was fab!!
I have to say I was a bit apprehensive about if it was gonna be really awkward and if I was just a bit too zoomed out to enjoy it but I was so wrong!
Francesco who ran the class was absolutely fab – super chatty and passionate, he really kept us engaged for the full two hours.
As for the food, omggggg!! Vietnamese has always been one of my fave cuisines and this absolutely lived up to that – it was so nice to be able to recreate the authentic flavours that I’ve experienced when in Vietnam.
Nuoc Cham Dipping Sauce
Veg Summer Rolls
The Pho broth was incredible – we made that first so by the time we were eating it, two hours later, the flavours were insane!
Summer rolls have always been one of my personal faves and paired with the nuoc cham dipping sauce, I could actually just sit and eat them all day!
The Pork Balls are sooo full of flavour so we’ll definitely be using the recipe again.
The course also came with a suggested wine pairing – a Grüner Veltliner. I have to say we were a little worried when we saw it was an Austrian wine but it paired with the food SO well – it started off a little sweet but the second you had spiciness on your palette it became a lot more crisp. The perfect spice accompaniment!!
I would definitely recommend booking a class – for £30, they’re such a steal and it’s such a lovely way to spend a lockdown evening.
Shout out to crogers68 for an excellent christmas gift 🥰
